Ok, so I have these 2 huge books filled with stuff I did from back in the day (one is preschool - 4th grade, the other is 5th thru 8th grade; I gotta make one for high school!). Anyway, I must say that old report cards are the best for inspiration. My report cards until 6th grade were mainly comments (no A’s and B’s), so you could really see your strength. Heh, I dunno what happened - I used to be wicked bomb at math. Like, I could do multiplication and division before preschool and could do (says my report card) 28 into 360 in my head in 1st grade. But now I’m only average. Ah well. And damn, I knew a hella lot about geography. I bet I knew more in 7th grade than I knew now, heh. I used to read the atlas for fun; tis what happens when your family only gets PBS on the TV.So here’s a couple interesting selections from the Kevin catalog. First I present my classic poem “Tin Cans” from 6th grade, which I think must be the beginning of my rap conquests.
“Hey, buddy! Watch my skin
I hold your food all day, I let it rust up my tin
I say, us cans get no respect
After you’re done with me, I’m recycled, chopped and pecked
No more will we put with this like
for all us cans are going on strike!”
Those cans threw all kinds of stuff at me
Until I negotiated with an 8 oz. named Lee
The cans insisted on 2 weeks paid vacation
And they wanted me to stop the stickiness of raisins
I gave in to those dastardly cans
But I was sure…never again.

I also had a list from when I was like 12 of “50 things that annoy me.” From #1: “People who don’t like Switzerland” (I swear I’m not making this up) to the prescient #10: “Arab Terrorists”, I was annoyed by a lot. Why I was annoyed by “The Olympic Spirit (49)” or “The color Maroon (35)” are beyond me, but “Most activists (20)”, “People who think the 70’s are coming back (38)” and “Fat people who wear cutoffs and bikinis (40)” still are highly annoying. And Adam would be proud that the list includes “Communists (3)”, “Bums (30)”, “People who don’t want to be rich (9)” and “People who think volunteer work and no money will make them successful (12)”. Damn, I was one greedy li’l sonuvabitch, huh? Mwahaha.
So the music industry continues shooting itself in the foot. The new service PressPlay, along with eMusic are decent attempts by the music industry to get people to legitimately download music. Here are *my* requirements to sign up for a music service from the industry.
1. Fast downloads from a server (not individual users) - they’re doing this right already. 2. At the very least, include every song available commercially. *Every* song. Pressplay lists a lot of artists, but I was unable to get the first 5 songs I wanted cuz those artists aren’t on there. If I can get it at Sam Goody, I should be able to get it from the online service. 3. Charge 20 bucks a month or less for unlimited, unrestricted mp3 downloads, in high fidelity - they’re doing this right on emusic.com already. 4. Offer internet exclusives like remixes and the like
The industry is a long way from this point.
With no audiogalaxy, it’s hella hard to get certain songs that I want. Kazaa and WinMX suck. I could almost always find what I wanted on AG. Even relatively popular songs aren’t on Kazaa. It’s wac. If the music industry would get their thing together, they would have my money.
Shit, my job is scary. The other day, I brought some coffee to this table of four 70-year-old ladies who have a history of hitting on the guys who work there. As I gave it to one of them, she said, “Ah, just the way I like it, hot and wet.” I kid you not. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! How will I sleep! Only old *guys* are allowed to be dirty, duh.
So me and Josh went garage sailing this weekend, looking for videogames. I ended up buying this late 70’s computer called a TI-99 for 7 bucks with manuals, and Josh got a bunch of tight stuff like a mint condition NES gun in box. I’ve got a way to make some money for college now, though. I’m making a price guide for videogames on ebay, so I pretty much know the rare stuff. At college, I’m gonna put up signs like “Need cash: Buying all videogames” and give people cash on the spot for their videogames (maybe like half of what I can ebay them for). I’ve got a couple grand in capital, so I could make some serious bank from this. By the way, anyone reading this with any videogames whatsoever who wants to sell, talk to me. I’ll give you cash straight up - more if they have boxes and instructions and are in good condition.
So I’ve got a bunch of family visiting right now. So many people. My stepbro got a job and leaves tomorrow for Durham, NC, where he goes from being a bankrupt guy living with his parents to a Duke researcher making 50 g’s. Not too bad of a change, heh. Ellen and her friends are up here now, too, which means Hannah isn’t the only car-obsessed wicked crazy Asian girl I know, hehe. Sweet!
So x = 2 dog treats / day * d^2 over 14. Well, it seems that dogs can do simple mathematics. Since my cat thinks breakfast comes three times a day, I don’t think cats have the same gift.

“Shooting Star” by Flip & Fill.
It’s the DDR song (and happy hardcore anthem by Bang) remixed into a vocal trance track that’s blowing up. “Like a shooting star across the midnight sky…” Speaking about vocal trance, check out the Ian van Dahl style “Dreaming of You” by Thrillseekers. Also, Jimmy Eat World’s “Sweetness” continues that group’s trend of hook-laden happy rock-pop. Not as good as “The Middle” by still pretty catchy. Also “Pina Colada (Jazz Mix) by Digby Jones.
Summer chill-out anthem. I imagine my friends who partake in the magic herb would enjoy this song, but I’m thinking it would sound good around 2 or 3 AM after a night of parties. “Touch Me (Darude Mix)” by Rising Star is a big room vocal trance cut. It’s U2-style Anthemic, but clearly influenced by the hand of Darude. I’m thinking it sounds like a Brand New Heavies song with Darude rolling the synth line. Tight. “Hella Good (Sanchez Remix) by No Doubt is a house-style remix by the master, Roger Sanchez. I’ll drop it on a mix I’m doing in a week or so of house tracks.
